WWE: The Lana/Rusev/Bobby Lashley angle is cringeworthy
With the rise of AEW and NWA, there are some members of the Internet Wrestling Community who have changed their standards in wrestling. Many of these people are realizing that the current story line between Rusev, Lana, and Bobby Lashley is cringeworthy. In addition, it’s one of the worst angles done by the WWE since they did the angle with Rusev, Lana, Dolph Ziggler, and Summer Rae in 2015.
If you aren’t keeping up with the product or haven’t watch lately, I’ll try my best to bring you up to date. Rusev made his return to TV a few weeks back after being off of TV for several months. He ended up making his return during a segment in the Maria Kanellis pregnancy story line. Then he was asked backstage about Lana. He tried to beat around the question until the next week. We saw Rusev take on Seth Rollins for the Universal title on a recent episode of Raw. Towards the end of the match, Bobby Lashley would also make his TV return after being out for a few weeks with an injury. However, he didn’t come alone. Maybe 10 seconds after Lashley came out, Rusev’s wife Lana came out and started making out with Lashley on the top of the ramp. Then this lead to a lot of bad segments of Lashley and Lana getting closer.
Then we got to this past Monday Night Raw. In the main event slot, we had Jerry the King Lawler’s King Court piece with Lana and Rusev. This is the first time the two have been in the ring since all this began. First, Lana said how Rusev was a sex addict and then she said how Rusev cheated on her. When he asked where she got that from, her response was Lashley told her.
I mentioned how there’s a rise in AEW and NWA, you won’t be seeing this crap on those shows. Lashley and Rusev deserve much better than this garbage. This is heading more in the direction of a soap opera and while wrestling is soap opera for men, I want some fighting. For the sake of everyone WWE please stop this story line soon rather than later.
