WWE: Three Ways I would change the product to help ratings

AEW is set to begin their weekly television show this fall. WWE Smackdown is set to move to Fox around the same time.  In the last couple of months, the ratings for both Raw and Smackdown have declined drastically. Prior to the Fox move, the WWE needs to make a few changes if they don’t want to lose the ratings battle with AEW.

I have thought about this and here are three major things that WWE can do to help improve the product.

  1. Make the show less predictable- For as long as I can remember, Raw and Smackdown have become very predictable. Promo to open the show, then commercial break, then a match. This is one of the bigger reasons why fans aren’t watching. You can change it up every week. Also, you can have a belt be put on the line. Besides the crap with the WWE title since WrestleMania 35, we haven’t seen many titles on the line.
  2. Push other superstars- It seems that we see guys like Roman Reigns, Daniel Bryan, The Usos, and others every week. What is the harm in giving someone like EC3 or Heavy Machinery some TV time?  You have talented superstars on the roster that are just sitting there and doing nothing. Instead of bringing out Roman Reigns every week, why not bring out an Ali or Almas.
  3. Stop Vince McMahon from having the final say on creative- War Raiders-Viking Raiders, treating the Revival like a joke,  and others. These have been the most recent issues of Vince McMahon’s creative decision. If you want to have a product where you are seeing a 5-7 rating and not a 1-2, then strip Vince McMahon of having the final say on creative control. Personally, I’d love to see Triple H get creative control. Let Stephanie McMahon get creative control of the women wrestlers and Shane McMahon gets creative over tag team wrestling.
