When you look at the hierarchy of professional wrestling, WWE is looked like the top. When we look at the lower levels, we see promotions like ROH, NJPW, and MLW. One of the no-no’s in any sports is tampering and it seems now that WWE is being accused of tampering contracts with MLW superstars.

According to PWInsider, Major League Wrestling is accusing WWE of tampering with MLW wrestlers. The report also says that the attorneys for both parties have engaged in talks. MLW made it clear that it has nothing to do with Davey Boy Smith Jr. appearing on The Bump this past week. They claim is that it has to do with many talents.

According to MLW, they have the evidence to back their claim but don’t want to go through the court system. It’s worth noting that we don’t know as of this writing who WWE was tampering with. MLW has a lot of young, great talent, so it could be a number of any talent.

On the other side, WWE has downplayed MLW’s claim. It’s worth noting that MLW’s wrestler contract prohibits them from talking to the WWE. We don’t know at this time if there is a case or the WWE did talk to MLW talent. MLW seems to be one of the companies on the rise lately. Court Bauer and company are putting the wrestling on notice.

They have guys like current champion Jacob Fatu and others. It is worth noting that the Ring of Honor and WWE had a similar problem, but WWE backed off.

Personally, I am not surprised that this is happening. As the wrestling world gains more popularity and stars outside the WWE make it, WWE will look at them. Just they need to remind themselves that they can’t talk if a said wrestler is under contract with another promotion.

Stay tuned as more details come out.
