WWE: With Kofi Kingston winning the title, what’s next?
As we saw at WrestleMania 35, Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan to win the WWE title. By doing this, Kofi Kingston became the first African-American to capture the belt. We have seen other African-Americans capture a belt in the wrestling. Some examples are The Rock, Booker T, Mark Henry, Ron Simmons, and Bobo Brazil. However, none of them were ever able to win the WWE title. However, now that Kofi Kingston won; it will be interesting to see where the WWE goes from here.
We should figure that Daniel Bryan will probably get his rematch on either an episode of Smackdown or the Money in the Bank PPV in a few weeks. Once that happens, it will be interesting to see what direction the WWE goes. If Kofi Kingston is able to retain, there are certain opponents I’d like to see him face right off the back. For Starters, Mustafa Ali should be high on the list. People forget that if Mustafa never got injured at the Elimination Chamber, there may not have been the opportunity. Another person who should challenge Kofi Kingston is Kevin Owens.
However, there is one person I would love to challenge Kofi Kingston for the WWE title. What would be wrong by having Kofi Kingston’s brother, Big E, be the one to challenge. You can easily create a storyline where Big E turns heel on them. The storyline could be that Big E drives the point that if it weren’t for him and Woods winning the tag team gauntlet, Kofi would not have had the match with Daniel Bryan.
The WWE can not screw up this title reign. it has been a long time coming. It shouldn’t matter if its a day or he gets a long run, the WWE can not screw this up in any way shape or form.
