XBOX: Will Halo Infinite Get Better Maps?
Halo Infinite finally released their multiplier format this week. Xbox players of young and old dove back into the classic shooter to challenge friends and take down their enemies.
Halo Infinite is an upcoming first-person shooter game developed by 343 Industries and published by Xbox Game Studios. The seventh main entry in the Halo series, it continues the story of the Master Chief, following Halo 5: Guardians.
Halo Infinite allows us to go back to the classic nostalgia that is one of the staples of XBOX culture. Well before online games blew up to the level they are today, we’d plan a game night where 3-4 of us would load up our console, and at times a tv, to play at a friend’s house. Times were a lot harder back in the day of gaming. Now you can play these games with a few button clicks.

So now that Halo is back to wow the masses, it’s bringing with it the nostalgia of game nights with friends. However, this Halo is lacking what the others did so well, the maps. Maybe it’s just because it’s technically still in beta, but Halo Infinite has surprisingly small maps. Of the two or three maps in multiplayer, none has even come close to feeling like it can support vehicles.
Maybe that’s not what Halo Infinite is meant to be. Did they decide to switch to more of the arena-style matchups? If so, that almost takes the fun out of it. There’d be no need for Sniper rifles or any long-range weapons. The fun of running someone down with a vehicle would be gone. And you can forget everyone’s favorite, sticking a long-distance grenade to an opponent.
At face value, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has all the potential that the others had, they just need to roll out more. If they can’t find a way to perfect the classic feel of these games, then they’ll continue to distance themselves from newer games like Fortnite and the Call of Duty franchise. XBOX has always had a lot of faith in Halo as one of their exclusive titles, now they’ll need to step it up for the latest installment.
